Dr. Imogen Shaw
MA. MB BChir. DRCOG. DFSRH. PG Dip Gynaecology.
Imogen qualified at Cambridge University and Westminster Medical school and has been a GP for 25 years, with particular focus on women’s health and the menopause.
Following a sabbatical in gynaecology, she qualified with a post graduate diploma in 2008. She is a co-author of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence guidelines for menopause, and has written a book for GPs on managing the menopause.
She is a member of The British Menopause Society and The Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and runs two local community gynaecology clinics.

Dr Gill Shields – Menopause specialist
MBBS, BSc, MRCGP 2011.DRCOG, FSRH Advanced Certificate in menopause
Gill qualified from Imperial College London in 2006 and, after her London rotations, completed her GP training in the Southwest.
She has Diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Sexual and Reproductive health and is an experienced coil and implant fitter.
She holds the Faculty of Sexual Reproductive Health Advanced Menopause Certificate and is a recognized Menopause Certificate and is a recognized British MenopauseSociety specialist.
Gill is a GP partner at Granta Medical Practices and PCN Women’s Health Lead and runs regular menopause clinics, group menopause consultations and women’s health clinics.
She enjoys listening to her patients in a friendly and relaxed manner to help women make the best decisions for their health.

Dr Reem Al-Shaikh – Menopause specialist
MBBS, BScHons, DRCOG, DFSRH, MRCGP, Advanced cert Menopause care (FSHRH)
Reem is a menopause specialist accredited by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the British Menopause Society.
She holds the Faculty of Sexual Reproductive Health Advanced Menopause Certificate and is a recognized British Menopause Society specialist.
She carries over a decade of experience as a full-time GP partner working within the NHS.
She holds a membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners and is a GP Educator and Trainer. Through her NHS practice, she has developed an interest in women’s health, aided by her experience working in hospitals and specialist community clinics.
She holds the Faculty of Sexual Reproductive Health Advanced Menopause Certificate and is a recognized Menopause Certificate and is a recognized British MenopauseSociety specialist.
Reem is a GP partner at Granta Medical Practices. She is passionate about women’s health and wellbeing and offers women’s health-specific appointments.

Dr. Rob Howlett
MA. MB. BChir. DRCOG. MRCGP. PG Dip. Cardiology BSE accredited in Echocardiology.
Rob qualified at Cambridge University school of clinical medicine and has been a GP for 25 years, with particular focus on cardiology.
He had further postgraduate training at Papworth and Addenbrookes Hospital followed by a 6-month sabbatical in Canada. He works in four hospital and community-based cardiology clinics. He has special interests in men’s health, including prostate and testosterone. He is Director of Cardiovascular GP, the national organisation promoting the management of cardiovascular disease in primary care and lectures nationally on cardiovascular disease.
He is experienced in all aspects of general practice, including diabetes, respiratory disorders, gastrointestinal complaints and bone and joint disorders, managing childhood illness and mental health problems.

Dr. Yvonne Girgis-Hanna
BA, MB BChir, MRCP, MRCGP, DFSRH, Dip Diabetes Care, PG Dip Med Ed
Yvonne qualified at Cambridge University school of clinical medicine in 1997.
She has been working as a GP and GP trainer in a semi-rural practice for the last 10 years. Previous to this she spent some time in specialist training in General and Renal medicine at Guy’s Hospital. Her interests are in chronic disease management of patients with diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease and particularly the care of complex elderly patients with co-morbidities and frailty.
She is also interested in woman’s health with regards to long-acting contraception such as coils and implants.

Dr. Claire Gillvray
MBChB(Edinburgh 1999), MRCPsych, DCh, MRCGP, MScSEM
Claire qualified from Edinburgh University in 1999. She initially trained in Psychiatry completing her Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2004. She then went on to train as a GP and has worked as a NHS GP Partner and Trainer in both London and Bristol. She ran her own private practice in London.
She has a particular interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine completing her Masters at Bath University in 2010. She has worked with both professional and amateur sports people in particular triathletes, runners and boxers.
She has experience in all areas of General Practice and has particular interest in mental health, addictions, eating disorders and musculoskeletal medicine.

Dr. Emma McGrath
Emma qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2004 with a Distinction inSurgery. Post-qualification, she undertook a hospital-based training programme in Paediatrics at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the West Suffolk Hospital, followed by a GP Training Scheme in Cambridge. Over the course of her GP training, she completed hospital placements in general medicine/care of the elderly, emergency medicine, psychiatry and obstetrics/gynaecology, and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2011.
She has gained post-graduate qualifications in Child Health, Women’s Health,Diabetes Care, and Medical Education and Leadership. She regularly teaches medical students from the University of Cambridge, and is a GP Trainer.
She has been a Partner in a busy NHS General Practice in Cambridgeshire since 2013, and very much enjoys the challenge and variety of medicine encountered in General Practice.
Emma is interested in all areas of General Practice, including treatment of acute minor illnesses in children and adults, management of chronic medical conditions (e.g. hypertension, asthma, diabetes),mental health, women’s health and family planning, and health promotion/screening.

Dr. Chris Schramm
MBBS, DFFP, MRCGP
Chris qualified in Medicine at the University of Tasmania in 1993, graduating with the Surgery Prize. He then emigrated from Australia to Cambridge and completed his GP training in Cambridge, gaining Membership of the Royal College of GPs in 1998. His career has all been based in and around Cambridge, including 18 years as a partner at Shelford Medical Practice.
He has been a GP Appraiser, Teacher of undergraduate medical students, a GP Trainer and a Director of the Cambridge GP Training Programme, alongside involvement in NHS and Industry medical research.
He is experienced in all aspects of general practice with particular interest in skin lesion identification and management, chronic medical conditions, bone and joint problems, mental health problems, common childhood illnesses and child development.

Dr. Mari Flowerdew
Mari qualified from the University of Oxford Clinical School in 2000. Her career focus has been the provision of high quality family medicine as a Partner in a local South Cambridgeshire Practice, with a particular interest in women’s health, contraceptive procedures (coils and implants) and paediatrics. She has 18 years of experience of all aspects of General Practice and health promotion.
Mari undertook GP training in Nottingham with rotations through General Medicine and Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Dermatology and Skin Surgery. She achieved Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners with Distinction in 2004.
Subsequent postgraduate qualifications include diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Family Planning and Reproductive Healthcare and Child Health, and the AHEA teaching qualification. Mari has extensive management experience of NHS General Practice, having undertaken lead roles within her previous surgery.
Mari’s approach is to offer personalised care in the context of evidence-based medicine in order to achieve the best outcomes for her patients.

Dr David Whooley
MB BAO Bch MRCGP
David qualified in Medicine in Cork City, Ireland in 1990. He moved to the UK 5 years later and was initially involved in Research and Teaching. He then worked as a GP in London, Cambridgeshire and West Essex.
He joined a semi-rural West Essex practice 14 years ago and has been Senior Partner for much of this time. He has also been a GP Trainer for most of his career with a special interest in Motivational approaches to the consultation.
He very much enjoys the variety of work as a GP and his interactions with patients. David is experienced in all areas of General Practice, including management of chronic conditions, care of complex elderly patients, childhood illness and mental health issues.

Dr Fiona Macleod
MBBS, MRCP, MRCGP
Fiona qualified in medicine from the Royal London Hospital in 1995.
Her initial training was in adult medicine and elderly care in North London. She went on to train as a GP in London, also doing jobs in paediatrics and obstetrics and gynaecology, before moving to North Essex where she has been working in a semi-rural practice for over 16 years.
She regularly teaches Cambridge university medical students.
She enjoys the variety, continuity and challenges working as a GP brings and is experienced in all aspects of general practice, but her particular interests lie in adult general medicine and elderly care.

Dr. Noshad Khan
MB BS MRCGP
Noshad will join us in the future – Noshad qualified from the University of Peshawar in 2001.
Post-qualification, he worked in general medicine/surgery/orthopaedics and moved to the UK in 2004. He completed his Foundation training in North Thames Foundation School in London and then undertook a training programme in Psychiatry in Northeast of England followed by a GP Training Scheme in Harlow.
Over the course of his training, he completed hospital placements in colorectal surgery, upper GI surgery, care of the elderly, stroke medicine, respiratory medicine, haematology/oncology, palliative care, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynaecology, dermatology, rheumatology and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013.
He has special interest in minor surgery, cryotherapy, joint injections, diabetes management especially insulin and management of chronic diseases.
He has AHEA teaching qualification and is a GP tutor and regularly teaches medical students from the University of Cambridge and is an associate GP Trainer for the Harlow VTS scheme.
He has been a Partner in a rural practice since 2013 and enjoys managing complexities of general practice.
